Privacy notice
Effective 2026-07-19
This is the marketing site's privacy notice. When the app launches, it will have its own, more detailed policy.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, which platform you use (iOS, Android, or either), and — if you choose to share it — one optional field about what habit you're working on. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address for spam prevention. That hash rotates every day and cannot be reversed to your original IP.
How we use it
We use your email only to send you one launch announcement when the app is ready, and to send you the confirmation email you're expecting after signing up. We won't sell your address, we won't rent it, and we won't use it for any other product or marketing purpose.
Analytics
If you accept the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization. This tells us which pages people find and read. If you choose Only essentials, we don't load any analytics.
Sub-processors
We use Supabase to store data, Resend to send email, and Google Analytics for optional analytics. All three are US-based providers with their own privacy commitments.
Retention
If you never confirm your email, we delete your entry after seven days. If you do confirm, we keep your entry until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in its footer. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it by writing to hello@weatherthestorm.app.
GDPR (for readers in the EU/UK)
Our lawful basis for processing your email is your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Our lawful basis for the hashed IP is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. If you have concerns you can't resolve with us, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
CCPA (for readers in California)
We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what we've collected, to correct it, and to delete it. Contact hello@weatherthestorm.app to exercise those rights.
Contact and governing law
Questions: hello@weatherthestorm.app. This notice is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
Changes
We'll update the effective date at the top of this page whenever we make material changes. If those changes affect how we use your email, we'll email you first.
