How it works
A tour through the pieces of Weather the Storm, and why each one is shaped the way it is.
Your first three-step plan
When you finish onboarding, you leave with three concrete actions — not a wall of tasks. The actions are drawn from a deterministic set; Ava only personalizes the wording. That's deliberate: your plan doesn't break if the AI is having a bad day.
Meet Ava
Ava is an AI guide. She helps you notice patterns, prepare for hard moments, and find strategies that work for you. She isn't a therapist, a doctor, or a replacement for professional care — and she'll never pretend to be human. Her memory is transparent, editable, and off by default until you turn it on.
Daily check-ins
Under sixty seconds. Your mood, your urges, any wins, anything you want to note. Every field is skippable. Over time these become the material Ava uses to help you see your own patterns.
Today's check-in
How are you, right now?
Under a minute. Skip anything you want.
Small, honest, low friction. If you skip it, you skip it. If you show up, we'll be glad you did.
Storm Mode
The most important surface in the app.
One tap from anywhere — available before onboarding is even done. When you tap it, you get the smallest number of choices required to help: calm your mind, talk with Ava, or contact your Circle. Not a menu. Not a checklist. The right choice for the moment you're actually in.
Storm Mode
Right now, what would help?
- Calm my mind
- Talk with Ava
- Contact my Circle
Nothing here is a test.
"I noticed today was difficult. Would you like to explore what happened together?"
Ava learns from what actually helped, so the next storm is easier to weather. Reflection creates resilience — never punishment.
Circles
Small support groups of five to eight people — either people you already trust, or peers matched through the app because they're working on the same change. Either way: no followers, no likes, no popularity metrics, no infinite feed. Every Circle is private, closed, and invite-only. You control what each Circle can see, from selected milestones and Storm Mode signals to nothing beyond what you choose to share manually.
Insights
Turns your data into understanding, not scoreboards. Common trigger times. Which coping tools worked. Storms weathered. Health milestones, when they apply. Nothing designed to make you feel behind — just patterns you might not have spotted yourself.
